Jürgen von Funck

Jürgen Ludwig Otto Freiherr von Funck (born August 10, 1882 in Magdeburg , † July 28, 1963 in Vaalserquartier ). was a Prussian administrative officer and in 1919/1920, by order of order, district administrator of the district of Aachen .

Life and career

Jürgen von Funck was the son of the Prussian general of the infantry Richard von Funck (1841–1906) and his first wife Martha, born von Holtzendorff (1855–1884). From 1902 to 1905 he studied law and political science at the universities of Freiburg and Göttingen . After graduation, he entered the Prussian administrative service as a court trainee in 1905 , followed by his appointment as a government assessor in 1910 . 1918 he became a Councilor to the Government Aachen . After the death of the previous district administrator, his employer entrusted him with the administration of the Aachen district, which he was responsible for from November 22, 1919 to April 1, 1920. Returning to his regular office, he was appointed to the senior government council there in 1926. He did not retire until after 1945.

Jürgen Freiherr von Funck married Gerda Püngeler (born March 10, 1892 in Rheydt) on February 13, 1912 in Aachen-Burtscheid, daughter of the district court council and lepidopterist Rudolf Püngeler and Emma Helene , née. Honey man. The von Funck family lived at the Paffenbroich house in Aachen-Vaalserqartier. Jürgen von Funck found his final resting place at Westfriedhof I in Aachen. Her son Eberhard (1921–1941) was killed near Krasnogwardelsk before Leningrad.
