Edmund Tersluisen

Edmund Tersluisen (born December 19, 1918 in Krefeld ; † April 23, 2006 ) was a German lawyer, local politician and district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he studied law at the Universities of Cologne and Berlin. He passed the first state examination in law in 1952 in Cologne. He passed the 2nd state law examination as a trainee lawyer in Düsseldorf in 1950. Tersluisen received his doctorate in 1948 .

From 1947 to 1949 he was a court assessor in Cologne, then until 1951 a judge at the Cologne Regional Court . From 1952 he worked as a lawyer and legal advisor in the private sector before receiving a teaching position from 1964 to 1986.

On January 14, 1981 he became honorary professor for mining law and social insurance at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen .

He was married and had one child.

Public offices

From November 9, 1969 to the regional reform on December 31, 1971, Tersluisen was district administrator of the former district of Aachen, from January 1, 1972 to May 21, 1975 district administrator of the newly formed district of Aachen.

He was active in numerous committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

honors and awards

On August 31, 1976 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. In addition, Tersluisen was awarded the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on June 20, 1977 .
