Jacqueline West is an American costume designer . She became known through her work for films such as The Cradle of the Sun , The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen , The Strange Case of Benjamin Button , The Tree of Life or The Revenant .

life and work

Jacqueline West worked as a fashion designer in the San Francisco Bay Area, with her own stores in Berkeley , California. She got in touch with the film scene when she supported the director Philip Kaufman with his film Henry & June in 1990 as a costume consultant. Jacqueline West officially began her career as a costume designer in 1993 with her work on Philip Kaufman's thriller The Cradle of the Sun with Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes in the lead roles. Kaufman hired her again in 2000, this time for his drama Quills . For this film, West received her first nomination at the 2001 awards ceremony . In 2003 she hired Stephen Norrington for his fantasy film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen , for which Jacqueline West received a nomination for the Saturn Award . In 2005 she began working with director Terrence Malick on the production for the drama The New World , which continued in 2011 with The Tree of Life , 2012 with the film To the Wonder and 2015 with the drama Knight of Cups . In 2009 she was honored with a second Oscar nomination for her work on David Fincher's film drama The Strange Case of Benjamin Button . In 2011 she received a Satellite Award for Francis Lawrence's film Water for the Elephants . Jacqueline West received her third Oscar nomination in 2016 for Alejandro G. Iñárritus film production The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio in the leading role.
