The yearbook z'Rieche ( Swiss German for yearbook in Riehen ) is the yearbook of the municipality of Riehen that has been published annually with changing subtitles since 1961. The model for the Riehen Yearbook was the Basler Stadtbuch , which has existed since 1875 . The initiator was the publisher Theo Schudel; the first publisher was the Riehen tourist office. The aim was to bring long-time residents and newcomers closer to the community of Riehen and its history, while at the same time strengthening cohesion in the then rapidly growing population. Since 1989, the yearbook has been published by a foundation supported by the municipality of Riehen , which in 1996 also carried out the historical study “Refugees came almost daily” in addition to the yearbook .
