Jakub Rumpel (* 27. January 1987 in Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player , who since the 2016 ECC Preussen Berlin in league play.

Career

Jakub Rumpel began his career as an ice hockey player at HK Trnava for whose professional team he was active from 2004 to 2006 in the first division , the second highest Czech division. He then spent a season with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League , with which he won the Ed Chynoweth Cup , the WHL championship. The winger then returned to the Czech Republic, where he achieved promotion to the extra league with the 1st division club BK Mladá Boleslav . In this he came parallel to an assignment for HC Energie Karlovy Vary .

From 2008 to 2010 Rumpel ran in the Slovakian extra league for HK Nitra and HC 05 Banská Bystrica . For the 2010/11 season he received a trial contract with the newly founded HC Lev Poprad from the Continental Hockey League . Since this did not start playing, Rumpel returned to HC 05 Banská Bystrica. In October 2011 he received a trial contract with the Frederikshavn White Hawks from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . For the following season he moved to the Löwen Frankfurt. In 2013 he moved to the Oberliga West for Herner EV . In 2016 he moved to the Schöhnheider Wölfen and played four games there. However, his tryout contract was not extended and he switched again. This time he joined the ECC Preussen Berlin and has been playing there since then.

International

Rumpel took part in the 2007 U20 World Junior Championship for Slovakia . In this he gave an assist in six games and received six penalty minutes.
