Jan Markus Linhof

Jan Markus Linhof (born May 7, 1965 in Paris , France ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

Jan Markus Linhof was born in 1965 in Paris, France, the second of five children and grew up there and on Lake Starnberg . His father was an insurance director from Silesia , his mother is the daughter of a forester and comes from the Black Forest . As a child, Linhof went to a German school in Paris and later to a grammar school in Starnberg . Later he began to study languages, which he completed as an interpreter for French and English .

He began various “miniature careers” as a surveyor , geriatric nurse , interpreter, scout guide, painter and extras .

Linhof completed his training as a camera assistant and volunteer and later became editor of the Bavarian regional magazine Bayern Journal , where he was the inventor and sole employee of the cinema show Lichtspiele .

He later produced image films and commercials for Hypovereinsbank and Edgar free postcards . At WDR Linhof was editor of comedy formats for youth television. He also made tourism films for “better marketing of desolate places” and music videos for the fishermen's choirs .

From 1996 Linhof was one of four directors of the Comedy Factory , but withdrew from the television and became Head of Culture at the Munich city magazine , later chief editor of the Internet platform kino.de .

In 2001 he returned to television and worked as a director and co-author of the WIB swing for ZDF . From 2003 he directed sketches for Tramitz and Friends , directed three film parodies for the Schöneberger Show and realized various series pilots with Barbara Schöneberger and Erkan and Stefan . In winter 2005 he was on a documentary film trip to the Himalayas with Martin Schneider .

According to his own statement, Linhof has “on a private level, pronounced preferences for electronic music , contemporary art and FC Bayern Munich ”. He lives with his wife, two children, two cats and a snake in the south of Munich .
