Japhet Kosgei Kipkorir (born December 20, 1968 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

Life

After victories at the Turin and Venice marathons in 1998, he won the Lisbon half marathon and the Rotterdam marathon in 2:07:09 hours, the tenth fastest time of the year.

In 2000, he won the Tokyo International Men's Marathon in 2:07:15, the fourth fastest time of the year, and came second in the New York City Marathon . In 2001 he finished fifth in the London Marathon and again second in New York City.

In 2003 he won the Lake Biwa Marathon , and in 2005 he finished second in the Vienna City Marathon . In 2006 he set the current course record at the Belgrade Marathon with 2:10:54 and was seventh in the Chicago Marathon . In 2007 he was ninth and in 2008 sixth in the Frankfurt Marathon , and in 2010 he was ninth in the Dubai Marathon .
