Yegor Alexejewitsch Korschkow ( Russian Егор Алексеевич Коршков ; English transcription: Yegor Alexeyevich Korshkov ; born July 10, 1996 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs from the National Hockey League (NHL) since May 2019 On loan for Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) plays on the position of the right winger .
Career
Yegor Korschkow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Sibir Novosibirsk . In July 2013, the winger was signed by Lokomotive Yaroslavl . In the 2014/15 season he made his debut in the Continental Hockey League (KHL). The winger was selected in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft as the 31st player from the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL).
They provided him with an entry-level contract in May 2019 . However, the Russian spent most of the 2019/20 season with Toronto's farm team , the Toronto Marlies , in the American Hockey League (AHL). There he had already made his debut in the pre-season playoffs. Korschkow made his debut in the NHL on February 16, 2020 and also scored his first goal.
International
Korschkow represented his home country Russia at the U18 World Junior Championship in 2014 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2016 .
