Career
Magnus Pääjärvi-Svensson began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the Malmö Redhawks , where he was active until 2007. Then the winger received a contract with Timrå IK , for which he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 2007/08 season . In his rookie year , the left shooter came together in the main round and playoffs to 46 games in which he scored three points scorer. In the following season he was able to increase to 18 points scorer, including eight goals, in a total of 50 games.
In the summer of 2009, the striker was available in both the KHL Junior Draft in early June and the NHL Entry Draft at the end of the month . In the draft of the Continental Hockey League , Lokomotive Yaroslavl secured the transfer rights of the Swede in the first round in 19th place with a commitment in Russia. In the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the first round as the tenth player by the Edmonton Oilers . In June 2010 he signed a three-year contract with the Oilers. On October 7, 2010, he made his NHL debut in the game against the Calgary Flames . On his fourth mission, he scored his first NHL goal against the Flames.
On July 10, 2013, he was transferred to the St. Louis Blues together with a second-round suffrage in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for David Perron . After he had completed 55 games for the Blues in the 2013/14 season, he was mainly on the ice for the Chicago Wolves , the Blues' farm team , at the beginning of the 2014/15 season . After a total of almost four and a half years in the organization of the blues and regular changes between the NHL and AHL, he came to the Ottawa Senators via waiver in January 2018 . He was active there for almost a year and a half before his contract, which expired in summer 2019, was not extended and he has been looking for a new employer ever since.
