Jesse Barnett (born November 13, 1987 in Long Beach , California ) is an American hardcore singer.

Jesse Barnett was born in Long Beach , California , in 1987 , but grew up in Costa Mesa . He has an older sister and a brother. Through her he first came into contact with hardcore punk at the age of eight when she gave him and his brother a cassette with pieces of music by the US hardcore bands Black Flag and Minor Threat . In his childhood he played drums and guitar in a church band . Barnett dropped out of school early and was unemployed for some time.

Barnett lived temporarily in Montreal , Canada and is a Canadian by choice. He had a girlfriend who he met at a concert for Barnett's band Stick to Your Guns in Montreal. After the relationship ended, Barnett moved back to Los Angeles in mid-2017 .

Career

In 2003, at the age of 15, Barnett formed the hardcore punk band Stick to Your Guns in Orange County , California . The aim was to create a sound similar to the band Hatebreed . With this he has released five studio albums to date, as well as a split EP with The Story So Far .

In 2012, Barnett started a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com in order to be able to realize the production of an acoustic album. The goal was to reach $ 2,000 , which was achieved in the specified period.

In March 2014 he founded the music project Trade Wind with guitarist Tom Williams from the hardcore punk band Stray from the Path . Both musicians have been close friends for several years. Musically, the project differs a lot from their actual bands.

On May 27, 2014, the EP Suffer Just to Believe was presented to the listeners as a stream on the Alternative Press website . On June 3, 2014, the EP was released as a download and as a sound carrier via Other People Records .
