Jesse Niinimäki (born August 19, 1983 in Tampere ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Ilves Tampere in the Liiga .
Career
Niinimäki played four seasons with Ilves in the Finnish SM-liiga . He was drawn 15th in the first round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers . He spent the 2004/05 season with the Edmonton Road Runners in the AHL and Ilves. For the 2005/06 season he moved to Jokerit . After a disappointing season, he was released from Jokerit in January 2006 and moved to JYP Jyväskylä to spend the rest of the season there. For the 2006/07 season he moved to Luleå HF in the Swedish Elitserien . On January 24, 2007 Niinimäki was loaned to the Krefeld Pinguine from the DEL until the end of the 2006/07 season. Then he was under contract with HC Davos .
Several positions followed abroad, including at HPK Hämeenlinna , HDD Olimpija Ljubljana and Amur Chabarowsk , as well as a longer stay with Ilves between 2008 and 2013. Niinimäki played for him again from February 2015 until the end of the 2014/15 season.
