The Corrs is an Irish pop - group . The group consists of four siblings who were born and raised in Dundalk near the Northern Irish border on the east coast of Ireland. In their music they combine pop, soft rock and folk elements . According to the sources, they have sold more than 18 million records in their careers. The band's most successful release is the Talk on Corners album with around seven million units sold.
Band history
The Corr siblings grew up in Dundalk, a small town in Ireland. You come from a musical family. The national breakthrough came for the Corrs in 1995 after they released their first album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten .
Her second album, Talk on Corners , released in the fall of 1997 , also sold well. They achieved their breakthrough in Great Britain and the rest of Europe with a remix version of the album and the cover version of Fleetwood Macs Dreams . The CD was the most successful album of 1998 in Great Britain. The Corrs were the first Irish band to achieve such success in the UK.
In the summer of 2000 they released their third studio album, In Blue , with which they achieved their breakthrough in the US, and played an MTV Unplugged concert. In the fall of 2001, a best-of album was later released .
In mid-2004, the siblings released Borrowed Heaven , an album that was shaped by the death of their mother. She died of a rare lung disease at the age of 57.
In September 2005 the album Home was released , which contains mostly Irish songs, including some covers of traditionals and more recent titles. In addition, the double DVD All the Way Home / A History of the Corrs was released in October 2005 , on which, in addition to a concert recording, there is also a detailed documentation of the career of the Corrs.
Between 2007 and 2013, Andrea and Sharon Corr made solo releases .
On June 11, 2015, the Irish Times reported that the siblings were making a comeback. Andrea Corr confirmed this in a radio interview with the BBC. The Corrs performed after ten years of absence from the stage on September 13, 2015 at the Konzert Live in Hyde Park in London. The group also announced that they are working on a new album. This album was released on November 27, 2015 under the title White Light . In November 2017, Jupiter Calling , the group's seventh studio album, was released.
