James Philip "Jim" Craig (born May 7, 1943 in Glasgow ) is a former Scottish football player and one of the Lisbon Lions .

One of the most underrated defenders of the day, Craig signed with Celtic in January 1965, having played as an amateur for Glasgow University just two years earlier .

Much to the dismay of Celtic fans, he ousted Willie O'Neill and Ian Young from right-back position. In the eyes of Jock Stein , Craig was a natural talent who was able to support his colleagues in attack despite his defensive duties. Craig and Tommy Gemmell stood at Stein for a new style of play, that of the attacking full-back.

In the 1960s it was not widespread to contemplate life afterwards during a career in paid football. Jim Craig was different in this regard, with the support of Celtic he was able to study dentistry during his football career and so work as a dentist after his career ended .

During his time at Celtic Park , Jim Craig was able to accumulate 17 titles, including winning the European Cup in 1967. Craig scored six goals in 231 games for Celtic. He was once a member of the Scottish national team .
