Johann Boguslaw von Zitzewitz
Johann Boguslaw von Zitzewitz (born February 12, 1724 in Alt Jugelow ; † January 9, 1803 in Bütow ) was a royal Prussian major general , chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 9 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .
Life
origin
His parents were Hans Heinrich von Zitzewitz and his wife Maria von Stojentin .
Military career
In 1744 he joined the Prussian army and came into the Cuirassier Regiment No. 4 (Geßler) . During the Second Silesian War he took part in the battles of Hohenfriedberg and Soor , as well as in the siege of Prague.
He became a cornet on August 8, 1746 and a lieutenant on April 10, 1750 , and on May 18, 1761 he became a captain and company commander . In the Seven Years' War he fought near Prague , Kolin , Torgau and Breslau . In 1760 he distinguished himself in the battle near Koßdorf and received the Pour le Mérite.
On September 26, 1764 he was major , on June 4, 1778 lieutenant colonel and on February 25, 1778 commander of the regiment. He then took part with the regiment in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On May 25, 1782 he became a colonel . On August 23, 1785 he was appointed chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 9 (Pomeiske) and promoted to major general on September 22, 1785.
On December 1, 1788, he received his release at his own request. He first moved to his Bielitz estate in West Prussia . He sold this in 1796 and bought Kettlewitz near Lauenburg in Pomerania for it . He sold this in 1801 and moved to Bütow , where he died in 1803.
family
He married on April 25, 1771 in Sürchen (Wohlau) Johanna Friederike von Köckritz and Friedland from the house Sürchen (born April 15, 1749 - August 26, 1808), daughter of Friedrich Otto von Köckritz (1725–1762). The couple had the following children:
