Johannes Angerbauer-Goldhoff (* 1958 in Steyr ) is an Austrian jewelry artist, sculptor and concept artist .

Life

Johannes Angerbauer was born as the son of the metal sculptor Johann Angerbauer and the chaser Gertrude Stolz. He attended the Bundesrealgymnasium from 1968 to 1972 and from 1972 to 1976 the higher department for art and design at the HTL Steyr . From 1977 to 1982 he studied at the Linz University of Design with Helmuth Gsöllpointner , Gottfried Höllwarth and Erwin Reiter . From 1979 to 1981 he attended the sculpture seminar in Gusen with Gottfried Höllwarth. In 1982 he did community service looking after children with multiple disabilities at the Hartheim Institute . His father (1977) and mother (1985) died early. In 1982 he took over the jewelry atelier of his parents and closed it in 1984. Since 1989 he has been working on the TA Tellaura Anachtonismos work cycle - The Return of Gold to Earth and since 1996 on the expanded concept of gold = social gold as a global symbol for more humanity.

Johannes Angerbauer used the pseudonym Johannes Goldhoff from 1987 to 1991 . From 2008 he took this pseudonym on in the double name Johannes Angerbauer-Goldhoff. Social and political references are combined in his art. His works only experience their actual completion when they are purchased, since - conceptually imperative - part of the purchase price helps people in need or supports social projects. His golden works of art thus become social gold.

Investment Gold Bars (2014)

With the art project “investment gold bars” he has been gilding loaves of bread that have become hard since 2012. Each of his Bread Plant Gold Bars comes with a certificate that was created from a historical Degussa share. Each gold bar is linked to the current Ögussa daily rate ( gold as an investment ).

  • 1996 1st place for the Engerwitzdorf Gold Fountain concept . Invited competition for a fountain project on Mittertreffling's square.
  • 1999 1st prize for concept TA05699 in the art competition "Homage to the Margaret window " of the Ardagger collegiate church. Realization by purchasing the plant from the Lower Austrian state government.
  • 2008 1st place for concept TA011208 Goldenes Gemeindekleeblatt and project realization in the "Art in Architecture " tender for the common administrative center of the communities Oberndorf near Schwanenstadt, Pitzenberg, Pühret, Rutzenham.
  • 2013 Upper Austrian advertising award caesar 2013

  • 2009 Gitschtaler Gold seat stones. A Social Gold Landart project. The origin was in the municipality of Gitschtal in Carinthia. The Golden Network extends to the Gail and Drautal valleys.
  • 2009 Goldstein laying down in memory of the Jewish victims of the Nazi regime in the Jewish cemetery in Steyr.

  • 2014 “CRYSTAL DAY - Golden City Hall Passage Steyr”. Permanent installation of the “Crystal Day Gold Object (1998)”, shown at “GOLD” in the Belvedere in Vienna (2012), with traces of 38 people who suffered the fate of persecution, displacement and violence. It stands for the demand of “never again” and “first comes the man in gold”.
