Joost Maurits van Aken (born May 13, 1994 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch football player . The defender is under contract with VfL Osnabrück .

Career

Van Aken made his first appearance at SC Heerenveen on February 16, 2014 against the then champions Ajax Amsterdam .

In June 2015 he signed a new three-year contract, which was valid until 2018. He made a total of 92 games for the club and scored 3 goals.

On August 30, 2017, Sheffield Wednesday announced that Van Aken would join the club for an unspecified sum. He signed a four-year contract.

On August 14, 2019, VfL Osnabrück announced that van Aken had been loaned from Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the 2019/2020 season.

On September 1, 2019, he scored his first goal for VfL Osnabrück in the game against Karlsruher SC .
