José Márcio da Costa , known as Márcio Mossoró or just Mossoró (born July 4, 1983 in Mossoró , Brazil ) is a Brazilian football player .
Career
youth
Márcio Mossoró was born as José Márcio da Costa on July 4, 1983 in the Brazilian city of Mossoró , Rio Grande do Norte , which is where his nickname Mossoró comes from. In 1999 he began his football career in the U17 team of the Brazilian club Ferroviário AC .
societies
Mossoró made his professional football debut in 2001 in the main squad of Ferroviário AC. In 2002 he moved to Santa Catarina Clube , where it didn't last long. In the same year his move to Paulista FC was announced, where he also played from 2003. In 2005 Mossoró won the Copa do Brasil together with his club , where he drew the attention of various clubs. For the second half of the 2005 season he signed a contract with SC Internacional .
In July 2007, the midfielder was loaned from SC Internacional to Portugal to Marítimo Funchal . After an excellent 2007/08 season at the Portuguese club, where he was used in all league games and scored seven goals, he was signed by Sporting Braga for four years in July 2008 . In the UEFA Europa League 2010/11 he took part in all games up to the finals of Braga SC. After the Europa League at the end of the season, he extended his contract with Braga SC until 2014.
For the 2013/14 season Mossoró signed a two-year contract with the Saudi first division club Al-Ahli Sport Club Jeddah .
In August 2014 Mossoró moved to Turkey and signed a one-year contract with the newly promoted Istanbul Başakşehir FK . After five years he moved within the league to Göztepe Izmir .
