José Maria Chaves dos Reis
José Maria Chaves dos Reis (born November 21, 1962 in Oeiras do Pará , Pará state , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Abaetetuba .
Life
José Maria Chaves dos Reis studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Instituto Pastoral Regional in Belém . He received on 21 November 1996, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Chaves dos Reis graduated from the Universidade Estadual do Vale do Acaraú in Sobral with a degree in religious studies .
From 1996 to 2000, Jose Maria Chaves dos Reis rain the seminary Padre Josimo in Cametá . He was then vicar until 2002 and pastor from 2002 to 2006 at the São João Batista Cathedral in Cametá. He then became Vicar General of the Territorial Prelature Cametá and Regens of the Bom Pastor Seminary in Cametá.
On July 3, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Abaetetuba. The Bishop of Cametá, Jesús María Cizaurre Berdonces OAR , ordained him episcopal on October 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Santarém , Flávio Giovenale SDB , and the Archbishop of Belém do Pará , Alberto Taveira Corrêa .
