Jucilene Sales de Lima (born September 14, 1990 in Taperoá ) is a Brazilian javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Jucilene de Lima gained her first international experience in 2004 at the South American Youth Championships in Guayaquil , where she won the gold medal with a width of 48.04 m. This gave her a starting place for the Youth World Championships in Marrakech , where she was eliminated with 43.62 m in qualification. Then she reached sixth place at the South American Championships in Cali with a throw of 44.74 m and was fifth at the Pan American Junior Championships in Windsor with 45.83 m, before she won the gold medal at the Junior South American Championships in Rosario with 46.04 m. The following year she took part in the Junior World Championships in Beijing , but was eliminated there without a valid attempt in qualification. In 2007 she finished fourth at the South American Championships in São Paulo with 52.86 m and then won the Junior South American Championships and the Pan American Junior Championships with 47.53 m and 49.42 m respectively. Then she classified at the Youth World Championships in Ostrava with a throw at 45.73 m in tenth place and also finished tenth at her first Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro with 46.59 m. The following year she was at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 50.87 m eleventh and won the bronze medal at the U23 South American Championships in Lima with 48.44 m. In 2009 she won the silver medal at the South American Championships in Lima with a width of 54.37 m and only had to admit defeat to her compatriot Alessandra Resende . Then she won the Junior South America in São Paulo with 48.74 m silver medal and in the Pan American Junior Championships in Port of Spain with 47,10 m bronze.

In 2012 she finished fourth at the Ibero-American Championships in Barquisimeto with a throw of 55.98 m and won the Brazilian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 28.56 minutes. She then won the U23 South American Championships in São Paulo with 56.00 m. In 2013 she won the bronze medal at the South American Championships in Cartagena with 57.73 m and had to admit defeat to the Colombian Flor Ruíz and her compatriot Laila Ferrer de Silva . She then took part in the World Championships in Moscow for the first time, but was eliminated there with 55.18 m in qualification. In 2014 she took part in the South American Games in Santiago de Chile for the first time and won the silver medal behind the Colombian Ruiz with 60.17 m. Then she won the Ibero-American Championships in São Paulo with 61.71 m. In the following year she won the South American Championships in Lima with 60.16 m and won the bronze medal behind the Canadian Elizabeth Gleadle and Kara Winger from the United States at the Pan American Games in Toronto with 60.42 m . This gave her a starting place at the World Championships in Beijing, where she was eliminated again with 59.49 m in qualification . Towards the end of the season, she won the silver medal behind Chinese Zhang Li at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, with a width of 57.99 m .

From 2012 to 2014 de Lima was the Brazilian champion in javelin throw.
