Judianna Makovsky

Judianna Makovsky (born August 24, 1967 in New Jersey ) is an American costume designer . She has been nominated three times for an Oscar .

Life

As a child, Makovsky was part of the Children's Chorus at the New York Metropolitan Opera , and she was very fascinated by the costumes and sets.

She studied costume design at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Yale School of Drama and wrote her thesis under Jane Greenwood .

Her first job in film was for Cotton Club , as an assistant to Milena Canonero , with whom she worked again and again - including Dick Tracy . She created Mokovsky's first independent design in 1988 for the film Big .

Makovsky's activities range from historical equipment films to superheroes and sci-fi / fantasy fans. In addition to the excellent work for Pleasantville , Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone , Seabiscuit and X-Men: The Last Stand , she is particularly known for The Hunger Games .

Makovsky was nominated six times for the Costume Designers Guild Award and won three times, and she was also awarded an honorary award.
