Julia Hiller (born July 24, 1987 in Walnut Creek , California ) is a German athlete who became German champion in the 3,000 meter obstacle course in 2007 .

Athletic career

The 1.70 m tall and 55 kg middle-distance and obstacle runner began her sports career at the LG Erlangen before moving to LAC Quelle Fürth in 2005 . Your trainer is Jörg Stäcker.

In 2005 she won first places at the German A-Youth Championships over 2000 meters obstacle, 3000 meters and in the road running and cross team. At the Junior European Championships she finished fifth over 3000 meters obstacle.

In 2006 four more German championship titles followed in the youth field and a seventh place in the Junior World Championships over 3000 meters obstacle. There was also a ninth place at the European Cross Country Championships for women.

In 2007 she won the championship title over 3000 meters obstacle at the German Championships in Erfurt , albeit due to the fact that Verena Dreier , who had been leading by a large margin, fell at the last two obstacles. Julia Hiller was able to overtake the fallen woman on the home straight with her final sprint and celebrate her greatest success to date. Her time was 10: 11.47 minutes, making her a second faster than Verena Dreier. In spring she was able to win at the German Cross Country Championships (juniors).

In 2008 she was used for the first time in the senior national team of adults at the Indoor European Cup in Moscow and the European Cup in Annecy .
