Julius Ernst zur Lippe-Biesterfeld

Julius Ernst Rudolf Friedrich Franz Viktor Graf and Edler Herr (after the decision in the Lippe succession dispute in 1905: Prince ) zur Lippe-Biesterfeld (born September 2, 1873 in Oberkassel near Bonn ; † September 15, 1952 ibid) was a member of the Lippe family and was German Diplomat.

Life

Julius zur Lippe-Biesterfeld was the third son of the Count and later regent of Lippe Ernst zur Lippe-Biesterfeld (1842–1904) and Countess Caroline born. von Wartensleben (1844–1905). He attended high school in Frankfurt ad Oder and the Royal Pedagogy in Putbus until graduation at Easter 1894 . He then studied law at the universities of Berlin , Bonn , Geneva and Halle (Saale) . In Bonn he became a member of the Corps Borussia . In 1901 he was in Greifswald with a dissertation on "patent law license" to Dr. jur. PhD.

After the final decision in the Lippe succession dispute in 1905, he received the title of Prince and the title of Highness .

He was a lieutenant à la suite of the hussar regiment "Emperor Nicholas II of Russia" (1st Westphalian) No. 8 . As a diplomat he worked in Saint Petersburg , Rome , Belgrade , Madrid , Constantinople and Bucharest . Since 1912 he was a Legation Councilor a. D.

In 1913 he was awarded the character as Captain or Captain à la suite of III. Battalion, the Lipper rifle , in the infantry regiment "Graf Bülow von Dennewitz" (6th Westphalian) No. 55, which is particularly associated with the Principality of Lippe .

Marriage and offspring

On August 11, 1914 he married in Neustrelitz Duchess (Victoria) Marie of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1878-1948), divorced Countess Jametel, the eldest daughter of Grand Duke Adolf Frederick V (1848-1914) and his wife Princess Elisabeth of Anhalt Dessau (1857-1933).

The couple lived first in the Villa zur Lippe in Dresden-Blasewitz and later in the Lippesches Landhaus in Oberkassel.

The marriage had two children:

  • Elisabeth Caroline (1916–2013), Princess of the Lippe
⚭ 1939 Ernst August Prince of Solms-Braunfels (1892–1968),
  • Ernst August (1917–1990), Prince zur Lippe (Noble Lord and Count of Biesterfeld etc.)
⚭ 1948 Christa Irene von Arnim (* 1923).
