Kamienna Struga ( German  Steinbach ) is a settlement in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Kruklanki (Kruglanken) in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ).

Geographical location

Kamienna Struga is located on the east bank of Lake Siewen ( Jezioro Żywy in Polish ) in the north-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The former district town of Angerburg (Polish: Węgorzewo) is 27 kilometers to the northwest, while the current district metropolis of Giżycko (Lötzen) is 20 kilometers to the southwest.

history

In 1708 what was then Gutsdorf Steinbach was founded. In 1818 there were 21 fireplaces with 83 residents.

In 1874, Steinbach was (Regułówka Polish) incorporated into the newly established District Regulowken which - in 1931 renamed "District Borken Walde" - to 1945 and county Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

83 inhabitants were registered in Steinbach in 1910.

On September 30, 1928, Steinbach lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Jorkowen (1938 to 1945 Jorken, Jurkowo in Polish).

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and changed the place name to the Polish form of the name "Kamienna Struga". Today the settlement (osada in Polish) is part of the rural community of Kruklanki (Kruglanken) in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ) , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 Steinbach was parish in the Evangelical Church of Orlowen (1938 to 1945 Adlersdorf, Polish Orłowo ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Bruno in Lötzen (Polish: Giżycko) in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Kamienna Struga is part of the Catholic parish Orłowo in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and belongs to the Protestant parish Wydminy (Widminnen) , a subsidiary of the Giżycko parish in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
