Kanal 5 is a privately owned Danish-speaking television station. It went on air in 2000 under the name TV Danmark1 .
It has been broadcast under its current name since April 2004. The broadcast is from Great Britain . In addition to Kanal 5, Discovery Inc. also operates the channels Kanal 4 , Canal 9 and, since January 2007, SBS Net, which was renamed 6'eren in January 2009 .
The broadcaster's programming includes series, films and live broadcasts of football matches from Spanish and English clubs as well as the Scandinavian Royal League .
