The canton Bayonne-Ouest was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Bayonne in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Aquitaine . Henri Etcheto was the last representative on the Department's General Council from 2011 to 2015.

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Ustaritz". With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Bayonne arrondissement.

The canton bordered the canton Bayonne-Nord to the north and east , the canton Bayonne-Est to the east, the canton Anglet-Nord to the south and the Atlantic Ocean ( Bay of Biscay ) to the west .

The canton comprised part of the municipality of Bayonne . Bayonne was divided into three cantons until 2015, which is the largest part of the city in terms of population.
