The canton Bayonne-Est was 2015 a constituency in the Arrondissement Bayonne in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Aquitaine in France . Marie-Christine Aragon was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2011 to 2015.
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Ustaritz". With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Bayonne arrondissement.

geography
The canton was bordered to the north by the canton of Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx in the Dax arrondissement in the Landes department , to the east and south by the canton of Saint-Pierre-d'Irube and to the west by the cantons of Bayonne-Ouest and Bayonne-Nord .

The canton comprised part of the municipality of Bayonne . Bayonne was divided into three cantons until 2015, this was a less populous part of the city.
