The canton of Dornes was a French canton in the Arrondissement Nevers in the Département Nièvre and in the Burgundy region until 2015 ; his main town was Dornes , representative in the General Council of the Département was last from 1994 to 2015, re-elected in 2008, Guy Hourcabie.
The canton was 267.58 km² and had 4,234 inhabitants (as of 1999), which corresponded to a population density of 16 inhabitants per km². On average, it was 222 meters above sea level , between 190 m in Cossaye and 267 m in Neuville-lès-Decize .
