The canton of Savigny-sur-Orge is a French administrative unit in the Arrondissement Palaiseau in the department of Essonne and in the region of Île-de-France ; its main town is Savigny-sur-Orge , representatives in the General Council of the Département are since 2006, re-elected in 2008 and 2015, Éric Mehlhorn ( UMP ) and since 2015 also Brigitte Vermillet (until 2021).

Communities

Until the French cantons were reorganized in 2015, the canton consisted of only part of the city of Savigny-sur-Orge. Since then, in addition to the entire city, the municipalities of Morangis and Wissous have also belonged to the canton. 57,732 inhabitants live in the canton (as of January 1, 2017).
