Karl Anton Stephan Paul von La Roche-Aymon ( French Antoine Charles Étienne Paul de La Roche-Aymon ; born February 28, 1772 in Paris ; † May 16, 1849 ibid) was a Prussian - French general .

Life

Origin and family

He was a member of the French noble family La Roche-Aymon. His parents were Antoine Charles Guillaume Marquis de La Roche-Aymon (1751-1831) and Colette Marie Paule Hortense Bernardine de Beauvilliers. He married the Prussian lady-in-waiting Karoline Amalia Maria von Zeuner (1770-1859) in Berlin in 1795 . There were no children from the marriage.

Career

La Roche-Aymon began his career in 1784 with the French Guard. From 1789 he was in the Neapolitan military service and in 1792 he joined the army of emigrants in Koblenz . In 1794 he went to Hamburg and from November 1, 1794 was lieutenant and commander of the hussar command with Prince Heinrich of Prussia in Rheinsberg , whose adjutant he was also. On December 20, 1797, La Roche-Aymon was promoted to staff cavalry officer and on March 2, 1801 to Rittmeister . He received on August 9, 1802 with a patent from August 3, 1802 the promotion to major of the cavalry and was aggregated on August 23, 1802 the hussar regiment "von Goeckingk" . On August 16, 1806, he moved to the "von Prittwitz" hussar regiment as squadron chief . There he became commander of the 2nd battalion on November 23 of the same year .

During the fourth coalition he took part in the battle of Prussian Eylau and the battle of Braunsberg . For his service in front of Braunsberg he received the order Pour le Mérite on February 24, 1807 . La Roche-Aymon was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir IV on May 5, 1808 and was promoted to lieutenant colonel on August 10 of the same year and commander of the 2nd body hussar regiment on December 20 of the same year . He was promoted to colonel on November 3, 1809, and on February 16, 1810, he became commander of the West Prussian light brigade. He has on April 5, 1811. Major General with an annual pension of 600 dollars his farewell from Prussian service received. La Roche-Aymon was on July 27, 1811 with the Red Eagle Order III.
