Karl Ferdinand Friedrich von Lützow (born February 10, 1750 in Braunschweig , † October 26, 1830 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and most recently the district brigadier of the gendarmerie in Pomerania .

Life

His parents were Egidius Berthold von Lützow (* 1713; † June 17, 1791) and his first wife Anna, born von Stötteroggen (* December 20, 1720; † July 10, 1751).

Military career

Lützow came to Berlin on January 26, 1766 as a cadet and on April 5, 1767 was transferred as a private corporal to the "Crown Prince" infantry regiment of the Prussian Army . On March 5, 1772, he was transferred to the "Alt-Sydow" garrison regiment as an ensign . There became Lutzow on 23 July 1778 as second lieutenant and on June 22, 1783. First Lieutenant . When the garrison battalions were dissolved, he was transferred to the depot battalion of the Jung-Könitz infantry regiment on May 1, 1786 . On November 16, 1790, Lützow was promoted to staff captain and on January 7, 1791, he joined the "von Tiedemann" infantry regiment . There he was promoted to captain and company commander on June 17, 1797 and to major on March 14, 1806 . During the Fourth Coalition War , Lützow was wounded in the Battle of Auerstedt , was taken prisoner near Lübeck and was subsequently made inactive.

From 1807 Lützow only received half pay and was still scheduled for employment in the gendarmerie on December 10, 1810 . However, he retired from service on March 26, 1813 . On April 19, 1813, he got the character as a Lieutenant Colonel and was commissioned on 1 November 1713 with the leadership as Kreisbrigadier the gendarmerie in Pomerania. Lützow had his official seat in Swinoujscie . He retained the position during the Wars of Liberation . It was only after the peace treaty that he was appointed to this command on January 19, 1818. He was made colonel on September 19, 1820 and inactive on December 30, 1820. On July 19, 1827, Lützow retired as major general while retaining his inactive salary. He died in Berlin on October 26, 1830 and was buried in the garrison cemetery on October 29, 1830 .

Lützow married on July 26, 1795 in Stettin Charlotte von Mark (* September 1, 1768, † November 8, 1837), a daughter of Lieutenant Colonel von Mark from the infantry regiment "von Pirch". The couple remained without children.
