Karl Friedrich Emich Meinrad Benedikt Fidelis Maria Michael Gerold Prince of Hohenzollern (born  April 20, 1952 in Sigmaringen ) is a German entrepreneur and since 2010 head of the House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen , the Swabian line of the Hohenzollern . Karl Friedrich von Hohenzollern is the eldest son of Friedrich Wilhelm von Hohenzollern (1924–2010) and Margarita, born Princess zu Leiningen (1932–1996). His family ruled the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen until 1849 , whose residence was in Sigmaringen .

education

From 1958 to 1968 he attended elementary school and high school in Sigmaringen. In 1969 he moved to the Institute on the Rosenberg in St. Gallen , Switzerland , which he left in 1973 with the Abitur. Karl Friedrich Prinz von Hohenzollern married the eight years younger Alexandra Schenk Countess von Stauffenberg (born May 25, 1960), daughter of Clemens Anton Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and the Clementine Elisabeth, née Countess Wolff-Metternich zur Gracht on May 17, 1985 in Sigmaringen civil and on June 16 in the Beuron monastery church. Landhaus Josefslust

On July 17, 2010, von Hohenzollern married the Hamburg businesswoman Katharina Maria de Zomer (* 1959) in Umkirch near Freiburg, who has been called Princess von Hohenzollern since then . Umkirch Castle was inherited by his father from the Romanian King Carol I , also from the House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. After the death of their father in 2010, the couple moved into the previously renovated Landhaus Josefslust near Sigmaringen.

Hobbies

Von Hohenzollern is an enthusiastic jazz musician (singer, saxophonist and guitarist). While studying economics in Switzerland, he attended the Bern Swiss Jazz School once a week . Honorary positions and awards

Von Hohenzollern has been a member of the federal executive committee of the German Economic Council of the CDU since June 2007 . He is also a member of the Association of Catholic Entrepreneurs and the Family Businesses Foundation.

He is a board member of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. V.
