Karl Hermann Eduard Theodor von Bosse (born May 1, 1797 in Groß-Wartenberg , † September 9, 1881 in Dresden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Karl was a son of the Prussian Rittmeister Friedrich Leopold von Bosse (1765–1839) and his wife Amalie, née Countess von Salisch (1772–1799). His father was most recently an adjutant on the inspection of his grandfather, Lieutenant General von Bosse .

Life

Bosse joined the Prussian Army's replacement battalion of the Silesian Infantry Regiment on May 1, 1813 as a volunteer during the Wars of Liberation and was transferred to the 11th Reserve Infantry Regiment at the beginning of October 1813 . Boss took part in the sieges of Erfurt , Givet, Philippevilee, Rocroy and Charleville as well as the fighting at Vitry, Chateau-Thierry , Montmitrail , Meaux, Namur and Wavre , Laon , Ligny , Waterloo . At that time he was appointed Portepeefähnrich on December 11, 1814 .

After the war, Bosse was promoted to prime lieutenant until mid-March 1832 . He was awarded the Service Cross and the Order of St. George V Class on May 2, 1834 . On March 30, 1837, he was transferred to the 26th Infantry Regiment as captain and company commander . For his behavior during the Battle of Ligny, Bosse was subsequently awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class on April 20, 1837 . On the occasion of the festival in January 1839 he was awarded the Order of St. John . With a patent dated December 13, 1831, Bosse was transferred to the 32nd Infantry Regiment on March 30, 1839 . He rose to major at the beginning of April 7, 1842 and at the same time came as a commander in the 1st Battalion of the 11th Landwehr Regiment. From there he came on March 31, 1846 in the 7th and on September 24, 1850 in the 14th Infantry Regiment . There he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on September 26, 1850 . On December 2, 1851, he was promoted to colonel and appointed commander of the 1st Infantry Regiment . He was then placed in command of the 28th Infantry Brigade on June 10, 1856 and on July 27, 1856 à la suite of the 1st Infantry Regiment. On October 15, 1856, he was promoted to major general. Under awarded the Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves was Bosse on May 14, 1858 Pension for disposition made. After his departure he was given the character of Lieutenant General on July 3, 1869 . He died in Dresden on September 9, 1881.

family

Bosse married on May 8, 1827 in Kohow Marie von Lewenau (1800-1882). She was the daughter of Ludwig Johann von Lewenau, owner of the Roketniz estate in Moravia. The marriage remained childless.
