Karl Friedrich Ludwig Heinrich Ernst Delius (from 1863 by Delius ) (* July 22, 1840 in Koblenz , † August 28, 1907 in Fulda ) was a royal Prussian government councilor and district administrator for the districts of Warburg and Hameln .

Life

He was the son of Eduard Delius (1809–1861), royal Prussian vice- president of Koblenz, and Charlotte von Ammon (1803–1869), who were raised to the Prussian nobility on March 4, 1863 in Berlin together with their children has been. Delius married Berta Snell on May 17, 1874 in Hildesheim (born November 3, 1853 in Eichberg (now part of Eltville am Rhein ), Duchy of Nassau ; † November 13, 1879 in Warburg), the daughter of the secret medical councilor Dr. med. Ludwig Snell and Auguste Alefeld. From this marriage came Dr. phil. Walther von Delius (1875–1961), Colonel in the Reich Aviation Ministry , knight of the order Pour le Mérite and the Hohenzollern House Order with Swords, and the writer Rudolf von Delius (1878–1946). His second marriage was on July 26, 1880 in Braunau ( Bohemia ) Marie Trautvetter (born January 21, 1860 in Posen ; † January 3, 1944 in Leipzig ), the daughter of Rudolph Trautvetter, leaseholder in Mittelsteine ( Lower Silesia ), and the Louise von Mengersen. From this marriage came u. a. the mine director Dr.-Ing. hc Friedrich von Delius (1881–1967).

Professional career

Delius obtained his school-leaving certificate in Lausanne in 1860 . Then studied law and camera science in Heidelberg , Munich and Bonn . He then completed the preparatory service at courts and authorities that is customary for the Prussian judicial and administrative service. He did his military service as a one year volunteer . He participated in the German War of 1866 and the Franco-German War of 1870/1871 as a Landwehr officer.

In 1871 he became a government assessor in Koblenz. A year later he moved to Landdrostei Osnabrück and a short time later to Aurich and Hildesheim . In 1875 he was entrusted with the administration of the Warburg District Office. The official appointment as district administrator followed a year later. In 1885 he moved to Hameln in the same position. In 1888 Delius was given temporary retirement.

Delius re-entered the civil service in 1892 and became chairman of the income tax assessment commission in Barmen . In 1893 he was appointed to the government council. In 1896 he was transferred to Görlitz . Delius finally retired in 1902.
