Karl Friedrich Moritz Ernst von Froreich (born September 12, 1790 in Stendal , † April 26, 1867 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Karl was the son of the Prussian major Ernst Ludwig von Froreich (1750-1828) and his wife Karoline, née von Imhoff (1766-1809).

Military career

On February 1, 1803, Froreich joined the infantry regiment "von Tschammer" of the Prussian Army as a private corporal , in which his father had already served. By mid-September 1805 he was promoted to ensign and was made inactive during the Fourth Coalition War after the surrender near Lübeck .

After the Peace of Tilsit , Froreich was transferred to the 1st Pomeranian Infantry Regiment in mid-September 1807 and promoted to Second Lieutenant on December 9, 1809 . During the campaign against Russia in 1812 he took part in the battles at Eckau , Ruhenthal and Wollgrund and the siege of Riga .
