The film was released on July 27, 1973 in German-speaking cinemas.

action

Tresette, an actually peace-loving man, who knows how to shoot cleverly, repeatedly meets his arch opponent Veleno. When he comes to Bad Apple, he has to defend himself against the attacks of three Sicilians who consider him an admirer of their wives. Then he works with the wrong sheriff Bambi and is supposed to accompany a gold transport to Dallas. Tresette and Bambi do this in a trader's car that they have to defend against some bandit attacks. When they arrive in Dallas, they are almost hanged because the gold turns out to be fake. They managed to escape from the prison in which they were put and now pretend to be the Maharajah and his wife. In this disguise, they also attend a masquerade ball by the banker Pearson, who was behind the plan to use Tresette and Bambi to make the real gold disappear. When he tells the two heroes that the gold will be brought to Mexico in biscuits, Tresette and Bambi get hold of the treasure.

criticism

"You shouldn't be really angry with anyone if they think this story is idiotic," explains Christian Keßler in his dictionary on Spaghetti Western, who praises the staging and photography of the film, so that the "crackling broken comic looks relatively good". A. Valdata was also ambivalent: "The name of the village, Melabacata (di Faulapfel), gives an idea of the humorous intention of this film, which happily strings together events, but also suggests that the actors and team had a good time." Lexicon of international film, however, finds the film "stupid".

Remarks

A continuation of the adventure took place in Thick Air in Sacramento from the following year.
