history
The place Ketzsch was mentioned in 1143 as "usque in campum Kirtzs ultra Muldam" and in 1390 as "Kertzsch". In terms of church, the place was originally parish to Remse until 1165, then until the secularization of Remse Monastery in 1533 to the church in Waldenburg , since then back to Remse. In 1543, Kertzsch was bought by the Lords of Schönburg as the former property of the Remse Monastery, which was dissolved in the course of the Reformation in 1533 . In 1551, Kertzsch is run as an official village of the Schoenburg rule of Remse , which came into being after the dissolution of the Remse monastery in 1533 and belonged to the Lords of Schoenburg under Wettin suzerainty since 1543 .
As part of the administrative reorganization of the Kingdom of Saxony, Kertzsch was subordinated to the Zwickau district administration as part of the Schönburg suzerainty in Remse in 1835. The feudal lordship of Remse and its locations has since been administratively administered by the royal Saxon office of Zwickau . From 1856 Kertzsch belonged to the Remse court office and from 1875 initially to the Zwickau administration . After an administrative reform was carried out in the area of the Schönburg recession in 1878, Kertzsch came with the entire former court district of Remse in 1880 to the newly founded Saxon governorate of Glauchau .
As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the Kertzsch community came to the Glauchau district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On September 17, 1961, Kertzsch was incorporated into Remse. Since 1990, Kertzsch has belonged as a district of the municipality of Remse to the Saxon district of Glauchau, which was added to the district of Chemnitzer Land in 1994 and in 2008 in the district of Zwickau.
