geography

Ketterschwalbach is located in the Hintertaunus between Limburg and the state capital Wiesbaden and is traversed by the Palmbach . The federal road 417 , also known as Hühnerstraße, is an old trade route about 1.5 km east of the village . State road 3031 leads through the village.

history

In 1354 Ketterschwalbach was first mentioned in a document. At that time the place name was Ketzirswalebach . It is unclear whether the name of the place is derived from "Heretic" or St. Catherine (Käthe or Kett).

The small Protestant church was built in 1483. A school is first mentioned in 1688. There is a village community center with a barbecue area in the village .

On December 31, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Hesse, the former municipalities of Beuerbach, Kesselbach, Ketternschwalbach, Limbach, Strinz-Trinitatis and Wallbach voluntarily merged to form the new municipality of Hünstetten. Local districts with local advisory councils and local councilors were formed for all formerly independent communities . In the centrally located Wallbach, a new building complex was built for the municipal administration.

coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a split shield, in front in silver a pair of black pliers, in the back in black a silver palm frond.
