Kévin Hecquefeuille (born November 20, 1984 in Amiens ) is a French ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in the National League B since January 2017 .

Career

Kévin Hecquefeuille began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Amiens Somme , for whose professional team he was active in the Ligue Magnus , the top French division, from 2002 to 2004 . With the team, the offensive defender was first runner-up in the 2002/03 season and was awarded the Jean-Pierre Graff Trophy as Rookie of the Year of the Ligue Magnus this season . In the following season he won the French championship title for the first time with Amiens . The Frenchman then moved to league rivals Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 , with whom he became champions again in 2007. In addition, the right-handed shooter won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2007 with Grenoble and the Coupe de France in 2008 . After he was on the ice in the 2008/09 season for Nybro Vikings IF in HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, Hecquefeuille received a one-year contract for the 2009/10 season with an option with the Kölner Haien from the German Ice Hockey League . For the Rhinelander he scored five goals in a total of 54 games and provided twelve templates.

After his contract in Cologne was not renewed, Hecquefeuille returned to his hometown club HC Amiens-Somme in the Ligue Magnus for the 2010/11 season. There he became assistant captain and was able to convince with 38 scorer points, nine of which were goals, in a total of 35 games. As a defender with the most points and assists in the main round, he was also awarded the Trophée Albert Hassler as the best French player in the Ligue Magnus. For the 2011/12 season he became the Genève-Servette HC of the Swiss National League A committed.

Before the 2013-14 season , the defender was signed by the SCL Tigers . He left the Emmentaler after the end of the 2015/16 season and was part of his home club Amiens for a short time at the beginning of the 2016/17 season before he was supposed to be signed by the Vienna Capitals from the Austrian ice hockey league in November 2016 . For personal reasons, however, this contract did not materialize.

In December 2016 he completed a trial training at EHC Kloten from the National League A , on December 19 he was given a short-term contract, and in January 2017 he left the club. On January 24, 2017, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds signed him out of the National League B until the end of the 2016/17 season.

International

For France , Kévin Hecquefeuille took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior C World Championships in 2001 and 2002 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2003 and 2004 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and at the A World Championships in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . At the 2011 World Cup he was voted one of the top three players in France.
