Kevin Misher

Kevin Michael Misher (* 1965 in Queens , New York ) is an American film producer .

Life

Misher was born and raised in Queens. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He then worked in New York for the entertainment industry as a senior financial analyst at HBO . When he moved to Los Angeles , he first worked as a clerk, then as an agent at International Creative Management (ICM for short), an agency for actors. He was then hired by the managing director of TriStar Pictures , Mike Medavoy , as an executive. When he was hired, Misher rose quickly and oversaw several film productions, including Donnie Brasco from Mike Newell with Johnny Depp and Al Pacino in the lead roles.

Kevin Misher joined Universal Pictures in 1996 and was appointed President of Production at the age of 33. Successful films such as Out of Sight (with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez ) and Erin Brockovich (with Julia Roberts ) were produced under him , but also successful film series starts such as The Mumie , Meine Braut, ihr Vater und Ich , The Fast and the Furious and Die Bourne identity .

In 2001, Misher left Universal Pictures and started his own film production company, Misher Films . Their first film project, The Scorpion King with Dwayne Johnson , produced an offshoot of the film series The Mummy .

In 2003 he produced the film Welcome to the Jungle with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Seann William Scott . He also produced the political thriller The Interpreter , with Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn for Universal Pictures.

Misher worked as a producer on the films Fighting with Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard published by Rouge Pictures in 2009 and the horror film Fall 39 with Renée Zellweger by Paramount Pictures . Public Enemies with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale by director Michael Mann was released on July 1, 2009 in American and August 7 in German cinemas by Universal Pictures. Focus Features released the comedy film It’s Kind of a Funny Story , which he produced, starring Zach Galifianakis in the lead role in 2010.
