Klaus E. Goehrmann (born August 23, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German manager who was CEO of Deutsche Messe AG from 1984 to 2003 . Since 2004 he has been chairman of the board of the International Neurobionics Foundation , since 1991 honorary professor at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover and has also held numerous supervisory board mandates and honorary offices.

education

Klaus Goehrmann graduated from high school in 1959 and followed a commercial and technical apprenticeship by 1962. Until 1965 he studied business administration and graduated with a diploma. In 1967 he received his doctorate at the TH Braunschweig and at the same time completed an MBA at Harvard and Fontainebleau .

Career

His professional life began at General Foods in Elmshorn , where he was promoted to sales director after four years. He then moved to the office machine company Rank Xerox in Düsseldorf as managing director for marketing and sales . Four years later he became a member of the board of the United Paper Works AG in Nuremberg .

From 1980 he was managing director of Geha-Werke in Hanover . In 1981 he was appointed to the exhibitor advisory board of the Hannover Messe eV He also became a member of the board of the office and information technology specialist group in the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering . In 1982 Goehrmann was appointed honorary judge and appointed commercial judge at the Hanover regional court .

In 1984 he moved to Deutsche Messe AG as CEO , where he stayed until retirement. In the same year he became a board member of the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce and the Exhibition and Trade Fair Committee of the German Economy

From 1984 to 1988 he was a lecturer at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In 1988 he was given a teaching position in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hanover, which he held until 2015. In 1991 he was appointed honorary professor .

In the early 1990s, Klaus Goehrmann received various supervisory board mandates, including a. at Norddeutsche Landesbank and MAN-Nutzfahrzeuge AG . In the following three years there were elections to the board of the Landesgalerie in the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover , as chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee of the DIHT and chairman of the board of the Lower Saxony Economic Forum Agricultural-Craft-Industry eV In 2008 he was elected President of the Consular Corps Germany .

Since 2012 there have been allegations of plagiarism with regard to his dissertation at the TU Clausthal from 2010. In January 2013, the commission of the TU Clausthal "to investigate allegations of scientific misconduct" initially confirmed the allegation of plagiarism. The Faculty Council then examined whether the title should be revoked. In February 2014 Goehrmann's doctorate was revoked with immediate effect. Goehrmann tried his Dr. Ing. To keep. On June 13, 2018, the Braunschweig Administrative Court confirmed the revocation of the doctoral degree by the Clausthal University of Technology.

Private

Klaus Goehrmann is married and has three grown children, including Julia Goehrmann . He has been involved in various Rotary clubs since 1969. He is co-founder and honorary chairman of the Friends of Hanover .
