Klaus Schrodt (born September 14, 1946 in Dieburg ) is a successful German aerobatic pilot .

In 2001 he became Freestyle World Aerobatic Champion, his titles also include the FAI world championship in motor aerobatics in 2002, the five-time win of the German championship and the double win of the European championship in 2002 and 2004. He was also in 2005 again world champion in freestyle and finished fourth at the Red Bull Air Race World Championship .

Klaus Schrodt was a full-time flight captain at Deutsche Lufthansa . In 2002 he retired from active service at the age of 56 and worked temporarily as a bush pilot in Africa, where he flew a Douglas DC-3 for a diamond company . He is currently working as a freelancer pilot for Daimler AG and otherwise concentrates on his career as an aerobatic pilot. At the beginning of his aerobatic career he flew a bright red Pitts S2a, an open, two-seat biplane. In the meantime, Klaus Schrodt relies on the designs of the former aerobatic pilot Walter Extra . He flew various variants of the Extra 230, the Extra 300 and the Extra 330, among others .

On December 7, 2005, Klaus Schrodt was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by the Federal Minister of the Interior .
