Klein Engersen is a district of the village of Engersen and the town of Kalbe (Milde) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

geography

The Altmark church village is 4 kilometers southwest of Kalbe (Milde) and 1½ kilometers east of Engersen. The Neugraben flows in the west and the Neue Neugraben in the south. The Heitberg south of the village is about 46 meters high, the Pickelsberg in the north is about 56 meters high.

history

In 1238 Klein Engersen was first mentioned as Engerbu parvum iuxta Calve . Count Siegfried von Osterburg and Altenhausen gave both villages back to Abbot Gerhard von Werden and Helmstedt that year. Other mentions are 1473 Lutken engersbw , 1506 lutken engersbo , 1541 Lütken Engersheim and Lütken Engersbu , 1687 Lütken Engersen and 1804 Klein Engersen .

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Klein Engersen was merged with the municipality of Groß Engersen to form the municipality of Engersen in the Gardelegen district. With the incorporation of Engersen into Kalbe (Milde) on January 1, 2010, the district of Klein Engersen became part of the town of Kalbe (Milde) and the newly founded village of Engersen.

The Protestant church community Klein Engersen formerly belonged to the parish of Great Engersen and now belongs to the parish area Estedt of the church district Salzwedel in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Culture and sights

  • The Evangelical village church of Klein Engersen is a flat-roofed late Romanesque stone church , consisting of a rectangular nave with a retracted square choir . The peasant flag from 1675 is one of the oldest preserved Prussian flags. It was reconstructed in 2014 with the support of many private donors, sponsors, associations and foundations.
  • The local cemetery is located in the churchyard in the east of the village.
  • In Klein Engersen there is a memorial for the fallen and missing of the First World War.
