Altmersleben is a district of the town of Kalbe (Milde) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
The Altmark Kirchdorf Altmersleben, a street village , located on the calf ash Werder , an old settlement mound between Kalbe (Milde) and Brunaupark four kilometers northeast of Kalbe (Milde). The Lower Milde flows in the south of the village .

history
The village is one of the oldest in the area. The sacristy of the Romanesque stone church probably dates from 1174, according to a dendrochronological study .
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1289 when prope Altmersleve when Margrave Otto IV. Assigns rights to a farm in Butterhorst to the St. Spirituskloster (Heilig-Geist) in Salzwedel . In 1295 the margrave gave the church to Altmersleben the right of patronage to the St. Spiritus Monastery.
The village is mentioned as Altmersleve in 1324 , when Hans and Heinecke von Kröcher sold Kalbe Castle and the associated villages to Albrecht von Alvensleben .
The pond at Altmersleben is mentioned as early as 1572, probably today's Bornholdt pond with island, 1½ kilometers northwest of the village.
In 1954 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG “Liberated Land”, was founded in Altmersleben. In 1970 the LPGs from Altmersleben and Butterhorst merged to form LPG Type III "Julius Kühn", which was dissolved in 1990.
In the early 1970s, there was still a windmill on the 50 meter high Mühlenberg in the west of the village .
Incorporations
On July 1, 1950 has been prepared by Altmersleben district Salzwedel in the district Gardelegen reclassified. At the same time, the previously independent community of Butterhorst from the Salzwedel district was incorporated. From July 25, 1952, the Altmersleben community belonged to the Kalbe (Milde) district . On January 1, 1988 she came to the Gardelegen district and finally on July 1, 1994 to the newly founded Altmarkkreis Salzwedel .
The municipal councils of the municipalities of Kalbe (Milde) (on May 8, 2008), Altmersleben (on May 14, 2008), Güssefeld (on May 6, 2008), Kahrstedt (on May 7, 2008), Neuendorf on Damm (on May 2, 2008), Wernstedt (on May 13, 2008) and Winkelstedt (on May 13, 2008) that their communities are dissolved and united to form a new town of Kalbe (Milde) . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2009.
After the implementation of the unification agreement of the previously independent Altmersleben community, Altmersleben and Butterhorst will become districts of the new town of Kalbe (Milde). For the included municipality, the local constitution according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt is introduced. The recorded community of Altmersleben and the future districts of Altmersleben and Butterhorst became the locality of the new town of Kalbe (Milde). A local council with five members, including the local mayor, was formed in the incorporated municipality and now Altmersleben.

The Protestant parish and parish Altmersleben belong to the parish Kalbe-Kakerbeck of the parish of Salzwedel in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The current local mayor is Bernd Pawelski, who was also the last mayor of the Altmersleben community.
Culture and sights
- South of the village on the Milde is the Goliath site , on which a large naval radio station was operated from 1942 to 1945. From the end of April 1945 to July 1, 1945 the fenced-in area served as a prison camp for around 85,000 German soldiers who had been captured by the Americans.
- In the late Romanesque stone church Altmersleben the medieval wall painting is still present.

- There is a cemetery by the church and another in the northeast of the village on the edge of the motocross track.

- The Motor-Sport-Club Altmersleben e. V. organizes the annual state championship in motocross for Saxony-Anhalt on the motocross track "Around the Mühlenberg".
