The district of Kalbe (Milde) , not to be confused with the Prussian district of Calbe a./S. Belonged in the GDR to Magdeburg district and was the county town Kalbe (Milde) founded on July 25, the 1,952th It was created in the course of the administrative reform at that time from parts of the former Prussian districts of Salzwedel , Gardelegen and Stendal . The district was dissolved again with effect from January 1, 1988, whereby the town of Bismark with its surrounding area and the town of Kalbe / Milde - although historically part of Salzwedel - were assigned to the Gardelegen district . Small parts went to the districts of Salzwedel and Osterburg .
On July 1, 1994 - as part of the administrative reform - the Gardelegen district was transferred to the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel . Exceptions were the city of Bismark and surrounding villages, which moved to the district of Stendal .
The whereabouts of the 26 municipalities after the district was dissolved:
- 15 municipalities were incorporated into the Gardelegen district:
- 9 are now in the Altmark district of Salzwedel : Altmersleben , Engersen , Güssefeld , Kakerbeck , the town of Kalbe (Milde) , Neuendorf am Damm , Schenkenhorst , Wernstedt and Winkelstedt ; Schenkenhorst was incorporated into Gardelegen , all others to Kalbe (Milde);
- 6 are now in the Stendal district : Berkau , the town of Bismark (Altmark) , Büste , Holzhausen , Könnigde , Kremkau ; today all belong to the town of Bismark (Altmark);
- Meßdorf was incorporated into the Osterburg district and is now part of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district;
- 10 communities were incorporated into the district of Salzwedel , today Altmarkkreis Salzwedel: Badel , Brunau , Jeetze , Jeggeleben , Kahrstedt , Lüge , Packebusch , Vienau , Winterfeld and Zethlingen ; Today lie belongs to the city of Arendsee (Altmark) , Winterfeld to the Flecken Apenburg-Winterfeld , the other eight to the city of Kalbe (Milde).
License Plate
Motor vehicles (with the exception of motorcycles) and trailers were assigned three-letter distinctive signs starting with the letter pair HH from around 1974 to the end of 1987 . The last number plate series used for motorcycles was HS 88-41 to HS 99-99 .
