Hagenau is part of the village of Packebusch and the town of Kalbe (Milde) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

Hagenau, a Altmärkisches street village with church, the county seat is located about 28 kilometers southeast Salzwedel and ten kilometers north of the town Bismark (Altmark) on the edge of veal ash Werder on the piping .

history

In 1324 the village of Hagenau is mentioned as Hagenowe , when Hans and Heinecke von Kröcher sold Kalbe Castle and the associated villages to Albrecht von Alvensleben . In 1579 and 1687 it is called Hagenow . In 1804 it was already called Haguenau . In the Middle Ages, the St. Marienkirche in Salzwedel had income here.

In the 19th century there was a horse oil mill in the village . In the 20th century there was a windmill northeast of the village on the left of the road to Gladigau .

In 1955 the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG "Karl Liebknecht", was established.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Hagenau was from the district Salzwedel in the district Osterburg reclassified. On August 1, 1973, Hagenau was incorporated into the municipality of Packebusch.

On January 1, 2010, Packebusch merged with other communities to form the unitary community of Kalbe (Milde). On the same day, Hagenau became part of the new village of Packebusch and the town of Kalbe (Milde).

The Protestant parish of Hagenau belonged to the parish Packebusch. Today it belongs to the parish Fleetmark-Jeetze of the parish of Salzwedel in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . In 1903 the parishes of Packebusch, Hagenau and Boock belonged to the parish.

Culture and sights

  • The Protestant village church in Hagenau was built at the end of the 19th century as a gothic brick hall church. It consists of a square west tower with an octagonal tip, a rectangular hall and a recessed polygonal apse .
  • The local cemetery is located in the churchyard.
