The district of Oschersleben in the district of Magdeburg |
The district of Oschersleben was a district in the Magdeburg district of the GDR . From 1990 to 1994 it existed as the district of Oschersleben in the state of Saxony-Anhalt . His area is now in the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt. The seat of the district administration was in Oschersleben .
geography
The district was on the inner-German border in the northern Harz foreland. The Great Break ran through the middle of the circle, the southern part of which was traversed by the Bode . The district bordered clockwise to the north, beginning with the (rural) districts of Haldensleben , Wanzleben , Staßfurt , Aschersleben , Halberstadt and Helmstedt .
history
On July 25, 1952, there was an extensive administrative reform in the GDR , during which, among other things, the states of the GDR lost their importance and new districts were established. The then district of Oschersleben (Bode) gave municipalities to the districts of Halberstadt and Staßfurt . From the remaining district area, together with parts of the districts of Haldensleben and Wanzleben, the new district of Oschersleben , based in Oschersleben, was formed. The district was assigned to the newly formed Magdeburg district .
On May 17, 1990, the district was renamed the district of Oschersleben. On the occasion of the reunification of the two German states, the district was awarded to the re-established state of Saxony-Anhalt in 1990. During the first district reform in Saxony-Anhalt , which came into force on July 1, 1994, it was incorporated into the Bördekreis .
