Apenburg-Winterfeld is a municipality in the Beetzendorf-Diesdorf association in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt and is known as Flecken .

history
The community Flecken Apenburg-Winterfeld was created on July 1st, 2009 and belonged to the administrative community Beetzendorf-Diesdorf . After its dissolution on January 1, 2010, it was assigned to the Association of Beetzendorf-Diesdorf .
The municipal councils of the municipalities Flecken Apenburg (on: September 23, 2008), Altensalzwedel (on: September 23, 2008) and Winterfeld (on: September 23, 2008) decided that their municipalities would be dissolved and a new municipality with be united under the name Apenburg-Winterfeld . The new municipality is entitled to continue the name Flecken. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on July 1, 2009.
Religions
The 2011 census in the European Union showed that of the 1782 inhabitants of the Apenburg-Winterfeld area, around 43% belonged to the Protestant and around 3% to the Catholic Church.
