Bone Mill (Wermelskirchen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This former mill, known as the bone mill, was also called Grenzaue and is located in the valley of the small Dhünn, northeast of the town of Dhünn and south of Hebbinghausen in Wermelskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In 1800 Johann Peter Schückhaus and Johann Henrich Veddeler and consorts started a lawsuit against Johan Peter Ernst, the treasurer of the parish of Dhünn, because of 27 thalers too much for the Korns winery. The process file has been preserved, whether it is already a charge from a mill is likely.

In 1824 Johann Peter Schückhaus and his wife Anna Schmitt handed over the property, worth 3000 Taler, to their son in front of notary Hamm in Wermelskirchen.

The original cadastre from 1828 to 1830 is named by Johann Adolf Flitsch, he has the cadastral item 53 Wiese in corridor 1, parcel 255, still without a house, called Im Schleppkotten and parcel 248 in the oil mill . From this information one must conclude that the mill is older.

On February 2, 1832, Johann Peter Schückhaus received the concession to build a bone mill. Others cite this as February 3, 1831.

In 1855, Vinzenz Jakob von Zuccalmaglio (Montanus) describes the future of the Dhünntal and names the bone mill.

In a revision of the original cadastre in 1866, Johann Peter Schückhaus owns the cadastral article 251, large 6 acres, with houses in corridor 1, parcels 255 and 256.

In 1877 Johann Peter Schückhaus had a map made about the factory called "Grenzau", municipality of Dhünn.

In 1880, Peter Schückhaus offered free stone delivery for the construction of the Born-Dreibäume road from his quarry, which was already used for the railway construction of the Wermelskirchen – Born line.

The mill burned down in 1894 and the rebuilt buildings are now used for residential purposes.
