Coal mining in the Vosges and Jura
The coal mining in the Vosges and the Jura mountains existed from the 16th century to the 20th century. In this region there are four deposits from three geological periods.
Deposits
Deposit in the valley of Villé , Vosges ( Stefan )
- Lalaye : mining in the first half of the 19th century
- Erlenbach : dismantling in the first half of the 19th century
- Saint-Hippolyte : dismantled between 1747 and the middle of the 19th century
- Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines : mining in the first half of the 19th century
Deposit in the Franche-Comté region , Vosges ( Stefan )
- Ronchamp , Champagney and Eboulet: Permission , mining in the Ronchamp coal mines (1744–1958)
- Mourière : dismantled from 1844 to 1891
- Lomont : only permit from 1904, no dismantling
- Saint-Germain : only permit from 1914, no dismantling
Deposit in the Haute-Saône department , Vosges ( Keuper )
- Saulnot : mining from the 16th century to 1925
- Gémonval : dismantling from 1826 to 1944
- Gouhenans : dismantling from 1828 to 1916
- Le Vernoy : dismantled from 1839 to 1852
- Athesans : dismantled from 1839 to 1916
- Vy-lès-Lure : dismantling from 1842 to 1943
- Mélecey : mining from 1773 until the 19th century
- Grozon : mining from 1845 to the 1940s
Deposit near Lons-le-Saunier , Jura Mountains ( Jura )
- European Gas Limited : only license from 2007, currently no production
