Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation

The Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation or Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation ( Dutch : Koninklijke Belgische IJshockey Federatie (KBIJF) ; French : Fédération Royale Belge de Hockey sur Glace (FRBHG) ) is the national ice hockey federation of Belgium . The English name Royal Belgian Ice Hockey Federation ( RBIHF ) is used in a language-neutral manner . The association was founded on December 8, 1908 and is one of the five founding members of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF .

The Belgian national ice hockey team , which won the European Championship in 1913, is subordinate to the association . In addition, the RBIHF organizes the Belgian ice hockey leagues, such as the top division in the country until 2015, the honor division and since then the joint league with the Netherlands ( BeNe League ).

On the occasion of the anniversary celebrations for the association's centenary, a Belgian team of the century consisting of Björn Steijlen , Jef Lekens , Mike Pellegrims , Willy Kreitz , Bob Moris senior and Bob Moris junior was appointed in November 2008 .
